The Music Director

Psalm:150 Music Director, Ozie C Cargile II is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Music Composition. He has studied composition with several distinguished composers including Detroit Symphony Orchestra composer-in-residence Michael Daugherty, Erick Santos, Susan Botti, and Bright Sheng.

February 2003, Ozie's orchestral work "Creation of the Universe and the Second Movement" was performed and recorded by the DSO.

2004, Ozie began working as a general music teacher and private piano instructor teaching middle school and high school students the value of music education and exposure. He still maintains a private piano studio today.

2006, Mr. Cargile founded the Psalm 150 Symphony, a 501(c)(3) non-profit community orchestra aimed at revitalizing the sound and image of symphonic music in the urban community, particularly in the ears and eyes of young adults. February 2008, the University of Colorado at Boulder College of Music presents a musical tribute honoring "Black Pioneers in Music Performance"; the program featured the Colorado premiere of Ozie’s "Creation of the Universe."
